Posted on March 22, 2026March 22, 2026Bluebonnet Sonnet (What love song will you offer?) Are you on your way? A new way, I mean. How do you feel when that lovin’ feeling ain’t around? On this Saturday in spring, I was on my way to get a haircut. I really needed it. This new neighborhood however was new to me. Would I like what I see? But there she is, these Texas bluebonnets – greeting me. In the midst of evil, depravity, chaos and social disconnectivity, there is beauty. But to notice beauty, you gotta look. Really look. Or you might just miss it. Recently I came across a Bill Moyer’s documentary courtesy of a Jungian analyst. “Facing evil” was what it was called. It’s not an inviting title. This blog entry came about as a result of learning a few things there, one of which a poem by Spanish American poet, George Santayana. His first line of Sonnet XXV, written in the decade of 1883-1893, got my attention. “As in the midst of battle there is room For thoughts of love ..” If your were to write your sonnet, what would yours read?
